What a perfect way to welcome the first whispers of spring, with temperatures in the 50s and the promise of flowers just beginning to unfold. Spring has always been my favorite season—the light, the color, and that quiet sense of renewal. This arrangement came together completely on impulse. I had no color palette in mind; I simply reached for the blooms that spoke to me in the moment. As it turned out, I remembered a ceramic piece I found at a thrift shop while vacationing in Cape Cod a few years ago. It isn’t really a vase at all—it’s hollow, and I suspect it may have once been a lampshade. Turned upside down, though, it becomes the perfect little compote. Why not? I tucked a small plastic container with chicken wire inside, and just like that, it worked beautifully. By pure serendipity, the soft tones of the vessel echoed the flowers I had chosen. And oh, the scent of hyacinths—absolutely intoxicating. I never used to pay much attention to them, but now I’ve grown to love how their fragrance gently fills the room and lingers in the air. Wishing you a lovely spring, surrounded by beauty, small surprises, and flowers that make your heart—and your home—feel full.
